“I’m so excited to be able to perform at Country Thunder, especially on its 15th anniversary! I get a thrill out of playing for such a great crowd,” explains Vassar. “It’s an honor to kick off a new album with a date like this.”

Known not only for his knack for hit songwriting, but also for his compelling and highly entertaining skills on the piano, Vassar has achieved a long list of Top 20 hits on country radio, including nine number one songs. Among his many accolades and awards are two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year awards, he was named Billboard Magazine’s Top New Country Artist, Billboard Country Songwriter of the Year, received Music Row Magazine’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and Top New Male Vocalist of the Year from The Academy of Country Music - just to name a few.

Currently, Vassar is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Prayer of a Common Man, set to hit stores April 22, 2008. Produced by the renowned Mark Wright, this is Vassar's first album with Universal Records South and aptly demonstrates his newfound creative freedom.
